INTRO TO USFS / NO TEST THROUGH PRE-PRELIMINARY
Available to skaters who have completed Free Skate 6. Skaters should be approaching completion of the Axel jump and learning (or wanting to learn) double jumps and more advanced spins. Skills covered include:
- Axel
- Axel combination
- Beginning double salchow
- Back camel spin
- Back sit spin
- Brackets, counters, rockers
- Moves in the field
- Split falling leaf
USFS SKILL TRAINING / PRELIMINARY - JUVENILE
Available to skaters who have completed the Intro to USFS class. Skaters must be able to successfully land the Axel jump and should be approaching completion of the double salchow. Strong knowledge of all basic spins is required. Skills covered include:
- Double salchow
- Double toe-loop
- Flying spins
- Illusions
- Axel 1/2 loop double salchow sequence
- Loops, Choctaws
- Spread eagles, Ina Bauers
- Split jump
ARTISTRY IN MOTION
Available to skaters Basic 3 and above. The basic principles and philosophies of choreography, presentation, and performance take center stage for figure skaters in this creative program. Through basic body alignment, movement, and line, the foundation will be set to fully train skaters to master their routines that earn high-fives today and standing ovations tomorrow. At the end of the twelve-week semester your skater will be doing a performance for the Academy skaters and families.

INTRO TO POWER SKATING
Available to skaters Basic 3 and above. Speed is a fundamental aspect of skating. This fun and important class teaches the skaters how to increase speed skating forwards and backwards, the art of turning, and stopping quickly. Skaters will be performing drills, using concourse style settings, cones, and circles to become faster and more powerful skaters.

JUMP DYNAMICS
Available to skaters Pre-Free Skate and above. This class is designed to teach the skaters jumps, jumping technique, new jumps, jump combinations, and jump sequences. This is an important class for learning proper body alignment and posture for jumping.

SPIN
Spinning Basics
Available to skaters Basic 6 and above. This class is an introduction to spinning. Skaters will learn about the different parts of the skate blade and the basics from turning with movement and develop those skills into complete spins. This class will cover spinning on two feet and eventually spinning on one foot.
Spin
Available to skaters Free Skate 1 and above. This class will venture into more difficult basic spins including scratch spin, sit spin, back scratch spin, lay-back spin, and camel spin. Skaters will explore spinning using the right and the left feet.
Spin Intermediate
Available to skaters Free Skate 3 and above. This class is where it gets fun! Skaters will explore difficult variations of spin, like the Pancake, Tuck, Haircutter, Upright Grab, Broken Leg spin, etc.
Spin Advanced
Available to skaters Free Skate 4 and above. This class is geared towards competitive skaters. Skaters will be sharpening their technique and performance aspect of spinning, learning and mastering combination spins (putting several spins all together in one spin). In this class skaters can also practice the spins they have in their competition programs.

CARDIO POWER SKATING
Available to skaters Free Skate 1 and above, including hockey skaters in the In-House program. This fast-paced cardio stroking class is sure to make you sweat! In this class we use fun fast paced music and several different drills to keep the skaters at their maximum speed and teach them how to increase their speed to the next level. Endurance is very important for skaters, and here they will push it to the limit!
AXEL
Available to skaters Freeskate 4 and above. The Axel is the one of the hardest jumps to learn in our sport. This class will teach you the basics of the Axel starting with walking through the technique of the movements, all the way to landing the jump while skating into the jump with speed.
